This is a lovely place to stay in Cheltenham. I was visiting for a wedding and traveling alone, as unfortunately my husband was working. From the moment I arrived I could not have been treated better. From being given a parking permit for the car, to discussing the walk to the venue, I felt very welcome and relaxed. My room was perfect, lovely decor, incredibly comfortable and well equipped. Following the wedding and after a very good nights sleep, I looked forward to breakfast and wasn’t disappointed. With specials on offer, like the delicious herby sauteed potato with beautiful fresh eggs, organic apple juice and loads of tea with toast and jam… perfect for my hang over. Friendly, colourful, comfortable, relaxed and welcoming. A great hotel.

We needed a place to stay at very short notice and Anthea made us welcome without hesitation. Our room was spotless, with delightful art throughout the house. We were even given a viewing of the fascinating work room where Anthea provides inspiring tuition.

The vegetarian breakfast was delicious and the service thoughtful, efficient and personal.

I can highly recommend this guest house especially to those interested in art and textiles, but also to any traveller who wants a comfortable bed, a clean house, a superb breakfast and a pretty, convenient location. We will definitely be back.

A very pleasant stay

I took part in the town's recent ukulele festival and had a very pleasant stay at the Cheltenham Lawn. The building is in the picturesque Pittville area of the town and doubles as a gallery for the owner's art work. Art works grace the breakfast room and there is a separate gallery space on the first floor. This gives the place a unique ambience that is very appealing.

I was in Room 1 (a single bedroom on the first floor with an ensuite shower) and was very satisfied with its cleanliness and furnishings. The shower was efficient and the toiletries and towels were of good quality.

The breakfast is vegetarian and uses fresh ingredients with excellent coffee and good selection of bread, cereal and juices.

The town centre is a five minute walk away and there are plenty of good quality dining establishments nearby.

The hosts are welcoming and helpful.
